Five Things To Do When Shopping For Perfume

Shopping for perfume is indeed easy but knowing these key points can help make it easier.

1. First and foremost, is to make a decision as to how much you are willing to spend. Budget is of utmost importance because if you don't set this before you go shopping, you might end overspending or being unable to buy the perfume that you want.

Think; if you want a bigger bottle you might have to spend a little bit more but you won't have to keep on buying because this can last for a while especially if you are not the kind who keeps on reapplying perfume during the day.

On the other hand, if you want a smaller bottle, you might not have to spend much but you might end up having to buy a new one every month, every two months or may be more often if you are the type who loves spritzing herself. Once you decide on your budget, stick to it.

2. Choose your scent. There's a wide variety of scents available in the market. As to what type of scent you choose will depend on your preference. Basically there are four main scent types and these are musk, floral, earth and lastly citrus. These scents vary in intensity.

The musk is great if you want to have that oh so sexy smell and effect, while if you want to smell sweet and draw attention you might want to settle with the floral. If you want to go simple, you can always settle with earth fragrances and if you prefer light fragrances or something that is bubbly, you might want to try the citrus. Again, whichever scent you choose will depend on your preference.

3. Knowing how it smells on you is way different from actually just sniffing it from the bottle. Remember that the best way to decide on a particular scent is by smelling it after you have applied it on your skin. Put a small amount on your wrist and let it sit there for a few minutes before you do some smelling. The scent can differ if you smell it directly from the bottle.

Some perfumes tend to fade after a few minutes you have sprayed it. If you want a perfume that lasts longer, choose something that doesn't fade after a minute or two of applying it.

4. When sniffing perfumes, do not just settle for one perfume instead try sniffing two more. Doing this will certainly give you more options and you will be able to compare which scent suits you best. Other than that, you can also compare which perfume lasts longer without having to smell so strong.

5. Pick the scent that suits you best. Remember that your body will react differently to various scents. So to make sure, you can spray two different perfumes on either wrist then stroll around the store or boutique for about fifteen minutes or more, giving your body time to react to it. After that, sniff again then decide which scent works well with your body.
